The Berkman Center for Internet Study and Security did a massive study on the Arabic blogosphere. Who blogs? What do they blog about? You can read the summary of the report at the Berkman Center site.
I found it interesting that they blog more about human rights than they criticize Western culture and values. That’s probably not what most would expect.
Full disclosure: My primary motive for writing this post is that I think the picture is cool.

i’m with ya on the full disclosure piece … cool picture and interesting data.
I went to the website you referenced and found it very interesting. Although I can’t figure out the graph, and therefore can only feel the same way that you do about it (that it looks cool), I did find it interesting that most Arabic blogs are about human rights.
Yet since most of those human rights posts seem to be about the Palestinian conflict with Israel, and how bad Israel was, isn’t it about as bad (spiritually and politically speaking) as them attacking American views?
That’s just me wondering, not a cut-down. I’ve covered the conflict in one of my own blogs, so I understand the concern.
Thanks for your comment Dan. I actually don’t think it is bad to criticize America (or Israel) if the criticism is justified. Certainly there is plenty of unjustified criticism, but both America and Israel are made up of sinners (and all other nations) and sinners always give others good reason to criticize.
Very, very good points! You hit it perfectly…all nations are made up of sinners. Makes me realize that I need to make sure I’m not judging others in my own writing. After all, I am a sinner too.
