I appreciate your insights in the progression from Eve to Adam to Cain. One could easily keep going until the deluge. And, as you write, Jesus raised the stakes. 

It strikes me that through the &quot;murder&quot; of Jesus, all of those in union with him were also &quot;murdered.&quot; Likewise, we are also raised to new life and have peace with God. Between now and the last day, we are called to follow in the way of Jesus and live peacefully, as much as possible, with one another. 

How we live today is to be a picture for others of how we will live in the new creation, when shalom will abound. By this, all will know … 

May the peace of Christ rein in our lives,
