Thanks for reading my blog. It tells me that you care about Muslims. Perhaps you have Muslim neighbors or Muslim coworkers and want to learn more about them. Perhaps you have been to a Muslim country. Whatever the reason I am glad you’re here.
Muslims haven’t always had very good interactions with Christians (think Crusades). Even today they see the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as Christians fighting Muslims. You may think that is ridiculous, but it doesn’t change their perception. Muslims often hear Christians speaking against them as though they are our enemies. They are not (sin is).
I hope to help you learn more about Muslims and their religion so that you will understand them better and be more equipped to love them (though it would be even better for you to learn about Islam from them). We are called to love our neighbor as ourselves. We can’t do this if we don’t know our neighbor.
My hope for this blog is that God would bring greater peace between Muslims and Christians and between all people and himself. I believe the answer for both of these is Jesus Christ who is the Prince of Peace (see Isaiah 9:6).
Here are some key posts that I think will better help you see where I am coming from.

Hi, I am a Christian from Singapore.
While it is good to hope that ‘God would bring greater peace between Muslims and Christians’, isn’t it true that prophetically, there will never be an end to the conflict till Christ returns to rule the earth?
I think it’s rather naive to think that people in this fallen world can ever live harmoniously together. It’s certainly desirable but impossible. To promote peace, however, would certainly be praiseworthy. But through what means?
I think Christians face a problem here as we believe that the answer is Jesus Christ who says in Matthew 10:34 “I come not to bring peace, but to bring a sword” I do not interpret it as Jesus suggesting that we use violence to force the gospel on others but that the gospel fundamentally condemns anyone who does not believe in Christ. As such, it is a gospel that can potentially cause the world to hate us. ‘If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you’, John 15:18
Will certainly like to hear your reply.
Jordan,
Thanks for your comment and questions. It is certainly true that there will always be conflict on the earth until Jesus Christ returns because there will always be sinners. It seems, though, that you may be saying that the there will always be conflict between Muslims and Christians. Is that right? If that is what you mean, then I would say no because there is nothing that I see in the Bible that prophesies such conflict between Muslims and Christians (perhaps you are thinking of Ishmael and Isaac? I don’t have the time now, but eventually want to write on how some of the Genesis texts have been misinterpreted so that people believe Ishmael was cursed and will always have conflict with Isaac. I don’t think that is an accurate reading of the text).
Yes, it is naive to think that people in this fallen world can live in complete harmony. But God gives common grace to all and it is not impossible for people to have peace (not true biblical peace that comes from God alone through Jesus Christ, but certainly the absence of major conflict). We see this kind of peace between lots of people whether they are followers of Jesus or not. The path of peace is the path of the Prince of Peace. Certainly my hope is that we would all be true followers of Jesus Christ, trusting him and worshiping God through him, but short of that I am also happy when I see people living out the principles that Jesus Christ taught (think Ghandi who loved the sermon on the mount and sought to live it).
I am a Christian living in the United States and believe that Jesus was the Messiah. I believe that He died for me and took my sins upon Himself and died on the cross for my sins. His resurrection has set me free to be in union with Him forever. He is my Lord and Savior! It is true that there will never be true harmony and peace on this earth as this earth is now Satans (for now) and as a believer this is only my temporary home….I am “passing through” to be with my Lord in Heaven. I will always pray for all faiths who do not know Jesus as Lord and Savior for He is the only way back to God!
